The Calm My Pet feature is an automated, science-backed sound system designed for Furbo Nanny subscribers and trial users who want to automatically reduce their pet's separation anxiety and manage excessive barking or meowing while away from home.
When your Furbo camera detects continuous barking or meowing, it automatically plays specialized audio tracks (such as classical music, high-engagement distracting sounds, or your own recorded voice) to calm your pet and protect their peace of mind.
How to access and turn on Calm My Pet
Follow these step-by-step instructions in the Furbo app to access and enable the Calm My Pet feature:
From the Furbo app home screen, tap the Menu button located in the lower-left corner.
Choose the specific camera you wish to modify from your list of devices.
Tap Calm My Pet (look for the "New" label next to the setting).
Toggle the switch to On to enable the feature.
Modify your preferred sound settings by selecting an audio category (Soothe, Distract, or Record).
How the Calm My Pet automatic system works
Once turned on, Calm My Pet operates using a specific detection and response loop to automatically guide your dog or cat back to a peaceful rhythm:
Trigger Condition: The system activates only when it detects 4 barks or 2 meows within a 15-second window.
Automated Audio Action: Depending on your settings, Furbo will play a 60-second soothing track, a 6-second distracting sound, or your personalized 6-second voice recording.
Automatic Cooldown: There is a 30-second cooldown period between each audio playback session. There is no daily limit on how many times the system can trigger.
The Settlement Reward: If your pet stops barking or meowing after the audio plays, Furbo can automatically toss a treat as a reward (this setting is on by default).
Video History Capture: When a calm-down cycle occurs, Furbo Nanny records up to three types of automated clips to your Video History timeline: Barking/Meowing, Sound Playing, and Rewarding.
How to choose your Calm My Pet sound options
Calm My Pet includes 22 total science-backed sound tracks organized into three distinct operational modes:
Soothe Mode (Plays for 60 seconds)
This mode lowers your pet's heart rate using slow, rhythmic musical patterns. If your pet continues making noise, the audio will repeat for a maximum of 3 times before safely stopping to ensure your pet does not become overly accustomed to the sound.
Smart Play Option: Enabling Smart Play automatically rotates your tracks so the calming effects stay fresh and your pet does not tune them out.
Available Tracks: 6 Classical tracks, 6 Deep Meditation tracks, 5 Nature Sounds tracks, and 1 White Noise track.
Distract Mode (Plays for 6 seconds)
This mode breaks a repetitive barking or meowing cycle by instantly shifting your pet's focus to curious, high-engagement sounds. If noise continues, it repeats for a maximum of 5 times.
Available Tracks: 1 Whistle sound, 1 Bag Crinkle sound, 1 Squeaky Toy sound, and 1 Bird Chirp sound.
Record Mode (Plays your voice for up to 30 seconds)
This mode plays a customized 6-second clip of your own voice to give your pet instant, familiar relief. If your pet keeps barking or meowing, your voice clip will repeat for a maximum of 5 times.
How to record your voice for Calm My Pet
Follow these steps to record a personalized voice clip that Furbo Nanny will use to soothe your pet remotely:
Open the Calm My Pet settings screen in your Furbo app.
Under the When Your Dog Barks... or When Your Cat Meows... section, tap the Record option button.
Tap the red Record Button and clearly speak a message, call your pet's name, or say a command like "Come!".
Let the recording run; it will automatically stop when it reaches the 6-second limit. You can preview the audio directly on your phone.
Important: You must tap the Back Button (
<) at the top left of the screen to successfully save your new voice recording to the Furbo system.
Important Notes
Device Compatibility Constraints: Calm My Pet is fully supported on Furbo 360, Cat 3, and Mini360 hardware models. It is not supported on legacy Furbo 2/2.5 or Mini2 camera models.
Cat Tracking Update Requirement: Full cat camera support and meowing report entry integration require the global app version 7.78.0 (released June 18, 2026) or newer.
Required Migration Step for Existing Users: If you are updating from an older app version to version 7.77.0, you must manually open the Calm My Pet settings page once. This action triggers your device's older audio settings (like legacy 528Hz or legacy whistle audio) to successfully map and update to the new track list.
Shared Family Account Limitations: If multiple family members share a single Furbo account but use different versions of the app (pre-update vs. post-update), your device's music settings may occasionally revert to the older legacy audio version.
First-Time Audio Distortion: A brief moment of speaker noise may occur the very first time your Furbo device plays a newly selected audio track. All future automatic playbacks will function normally.
Network Interruption Failures: If your home Wi-Fi network is unstable while your Furbo device is downloading the new audio assets, the new music options will be hidden from your settings page, and automatic playback might fail. The feature will restore automatically once the asset download finishes securely.
What to do next
After turning on the feature and selecting your preferred sound genre, test your settings by playing a preview in the app, then monitor your Nanny Report to see how quickly your pet settles down when Calm My Pet triggers.
