Setup failure may be due to various reasons and can be resolved by trying out different steps.
After entering your WiFi password, you will be advised to wait a few minutes while it is being set up. However, if you get a notification about setup failure, please check the following solutions;
- Make sure you have entered the correct WiFi Password.
- Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. Furbo won't connect to a 5ghz Wi-Fi.
- If your Wi-Fi has MAC address filtering, please check the "How to find Furbo's MAC address" article for more info.
Please check out some solutions below based on the setup error message:
Error Message: Wrong Router Password
- Make sure you are entering a correct Wi-Fi password. Furbo can only be set up to normal household Wi-Fi connections that only ask for a password as security. Wi-Fi connections that require a username and password to connect may cause Furbo set up to fail.
- Try to restart your home Wi-Fi router and try again.
- Do a hard reset on Furbo. If the issue is persisting after step 2, do a hard reset on your Furbo. You'll need to use a pin or a straightened paperclip to press the 'reset' button on the back of your Furbo (see the image below). While Furbo is plugged in, press and hold the reset button for about 20 seconds until the color of the light changes. Please wait another minute until Furbo's light turns green. Try to set up again.
- If your WiFi router has a WPS button,
While your Furbo is on showing a Green Light status, press the WPS button on your router and start the setup process using your Furbo app.
